Psoriasis Symptoms

Psoriasis is a disease that can cause everything from very mild to very severe discomfort. The vast majority of patients with psoriasis have a mild disease, which means that the total area of skin that are affected by psoriasis is no bigger than three palms of your hands. Of course we can be just as disabled even with a mild disease, especially for those where the spots are in areas like face and hands. There are many different forms of psoriasis. You can have different types of psoriasis symptoms at the same time, and it can also vary over the years. Here we briefly describe the most common forms of psoriasis and their symptoms.

Guttate psoriasis are teardrop-shaped skin changes that can exist throughout the body. A infection can trigger guttate psoriasis. Inverse psoriasis sitting in the skin fold by your armpit and groin area. Skin changes are often well-defined, red, shiny and does not scale. Plaque psoriasis is well-defined spots that often scales a lot. Under the scales the skin is red and sensitive. Plaque psoriasis is often found at the knees and elbows. Pustular psoriasis consists of numerous small blisters that can cover small or large areas. Palmoplantar pustulosis (PPP), is blisters (pustules) which sits in the palms and on soles of the feet. This type affects mostly women. Photosensitive psoriasis most often affects those who have photosensitive skin and is exacerbated by the sun.
