Pustular Psoriasis

Pustular psoriasis is relatively unusual. It consists of sterile pustules on a red base. There are two forms, general pustular psoriasis and a distinct form, acrodermatitis continua. During general pustular the patient is often seriously ill with a fever and general symptoms. The localized form gives pustules on the toes, fingers and nails. Palmoplantar pustulosis, which is characterized by recurrent pustules in the palm or foot soles is genetically separate from psoriasis.
